Mr. Ibu was admitted to Yola’s College of Studies after completing his high school studies. Sadly, he had to stop studying there because of financial constraints. Not to be deterred, he went on to seek additional education at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu, where he started his path to earning a degree.

Reason for Death

Mr. Ibu was sixty-two when he passed away. Numerous accounts from those who knew the renowned comedian indicate that he passed suddenly at Evercare Hospital.

As the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) disclosed, Osun Defender had reported in December 2023 that Mr. Ibu had undergone a second leg amputation and was hardly able to speak. Additionally, the AGN requested prayers and assistance for the veteran.

Osun Defender had stated in November that Mr. Ibu’s family disclosed that the actor had undergone seven surgeries, but that one of his legs had to be amputated to preserve his life.

Before passing away, the actor’s family had stated that he had undergone five successful surgeries and would be sent abroad for more care.
